Sugarplum Smoothie

When December turns into a culinary orgy of sorts, there are moments where you can reset your tastebuds and your body overall by adding healthy moments. Between the extra sugary treats and large dinners with family or co-workers, you sometimes need to simply slow down and enjoy something small.
I love the old combination of “sugarplum.” Essentially a mince of nuts, dried fruit and spices. These flavours can also make a beautiful addition to a traditional smoothie. Aromas of cinnamon, fennel seed, nutmeg and walnuts permeate the fruity blend of fresh and dry fruit. it’s a beautiful break from the hectic pace of this month. Sip slowly and enjoy for a moment. The chaos can wait 🙂
